It sounds too good to be true, what’s the catch?

There isn’t one. See the endorsement by one of Australia’s leading post-war diplomats, Rawdon Dalrymple AO. Mr Dalrymple was a previous Australian Ambassador to the USA.

Am I guaranteed a scholarship by enrolling in the program?

Even though the program maintains a 100% success rate in obtaining scholarships, the institutions' admissions departments determine the scholarships to be awarded. In the unlikely event that a participant does not receive the stipulated scholarship offers, they will be given a 100% refund of the monies paid.

When can I begin or continue my university studies in the US?

Once selected by a university, participants can select to begin or continue their studies in August (fall semester) as well as in January (spring semester).

Can I participate in the program if I do not speak English?

Yes. Participants who need to improve their knowledge of the English language prior to beginning with university studies will generally be able to study English at the recruiting institution under the same scholarship arrangement. So, knowledge of English is not a requirement for participation in the program.

Can I transfer previous university work to the US institution?

Yes. However, each class taken, along with its academic program, must be evaluated by the American institution to determine its equivalency to the American system. Typically you should be able to transfer between 60 to 90 credit hours, meaning the first two years only.

How long are the scholarships valid for?

Generally, most of the institutions participating in the program offer scholarships for the duration of the university career provided that performance is maintained.

What type of visa do I need to study in the US?

Once selected and offered a scholarship by an institution, the student must obtain an F-category visa to enter and study in the US. We will assist in obtaining all necessary documentation to be presented to the institution and be admitted. The institution will then issue the I-20 form that must be personally presented by the beneficiary at the American Consulate in order to obtain the student visa.

What is a SAT Test (Required)?

The SAT and SAT Subject Tests are a suite of tools designed to assess your academic readiness for college. These exams provide a path to opportunities, financial support and scholarships, in a way that's fair to all students. The SAT and SAT Subject Tests keep pace with what colleges are looking for today, measuring the skills required for success in the 21st century.

Where and when can I take a SAT Test?

You will need to visit www.collegeboard.org and create an account. Once you have created an account you can build your profile and register for a test in Australia or New Zealand.

There are test centres all around Australia and New Zealand and it is your responsibility to find a test centre and date that is most suitable to you. It costs $50 to register.  Not all centres administer the test every time the test is being given, so you would need to be flexible.

You will need to choose a date and test centre. The Testing centres in Australia and New Zealand are listed below:

Can I work in the US?

Every institution has its own rules but students may work as long as they follow the regulations imposed by the US Government with regards to International students. Currently, International students may legally work up to 20 hours per week.

What are the benefits of participating in the program?

  • Peace of mind: The program maintains a 100% success rate in obtaining scholarships.
  • High level of exposure: Based upon the high number of participating institutions.
  • Professional experience and know-how.
  • Lifetime experience: Apart from the objective of obtaining a scholarship, the experience of living on-campus with other participants from different countries is invaluable and allows for the development of lifetime relationships.

How do I apply?

Go to the How to Apply page to find out about the application process and download the application forms.

Do I need travel and medical insurance?

Yes. Once you have accepted a scholarship offer from a university, you will be advised of the recommended policies by the institutions.

I’m not very good at sports; do I still have a chance?

The Athletic Scholarships Program targets recreational or amateur sports men or women of competitive level ability who meet the eligibility criteria. Your current abilities are important but what is equally as important is your commitment and potential.
